Please encourage "stories" of the race!!

Beginning April 27, the Regata del Sol al Sol races from Tampa Bay to Isla Mujeres. The first race of the series was in 1969. According to earlier races, the sailors were saying, "There is no other regata like this one. The whole community comes out to welcome you."

Please encourage "stories" of the race!!

I must say I've spent many hours watching the race on the internet. Hope you encourage all the participants to give a short account of the journey and strategy or someone to give an overview. I've heard of broken bowsprits, withdrawing for weddings, and other interesting things. It seems I've gotten almost familiar with the boats and their skippers and want more. What fun!! Look for me next year aboard the HNS Dylan Forbes... and please pray! :D

Bret,

Just think if it had been a really bad weather year, the stories that could have been told, ha.

The boats are starting to trickle in, the docks are busy.
Looks like tonight around midnight might be a busy time at the docks.

Glad you have enjoyed it, I have been in Isla, only able to check in intermitantly due to finding internet cafes to use.

Bret,
I spoke with Mike Boom about getting a response from each boat concerning there sailing experience and possibly publish the results.
He thought that was a good idea as well and possibly will have more later on this.
