NCEP server for Wind data is down

Beginning Friday, May 18, the C2B Race has been developed to give every sailing enthusiast, from the diehard racer to the family crewed adventurers, a chance to participate in a 777 nautical mile challenge of navigational skill and true bluewater sailing.

NCEP server for Wind data is down

The servers at the NOAA National Center for Environmental prediction that iBoat uses to download wind forecasts have gone offline. Something about a power outage there. Now the back servers at NCDC have gone offline. So the wind layers and boat wind data will not be updating until NCEP gets these servers back on line. Hopefully tomorrow....

Strike that... The backup servers are up again! We have new wind forecast data. Keeping our fingers crossed!

On the maps-- you can turn on the wind layer by clicking on the check box labeled "Surface Winds" in the lower right hand corner.
