Finishers

The XL Regata del Sol al Sol kicks off on April 25, 2008 at 1000 EDT. Watch as more than 55 boats make their way from St. Petersburg, FL across the Loop Current to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. The race is approximately 456nm from start to finish and is organized and hosted by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. 2008 marks the 40th running of the race, and iBoattrack is happy to be a part of this fun-filled event!

Finishers

There seems to be 13 finishers. About 20+ others have motored in or are still motoring. A handful appear to be still racing.

This seems to be the results, as near as can be guessed without having exact finish times:

CZ: 1) Mango Latitudes, 2) Twilight, 3) Antea, 4) Acadia (no others finished so far)

SpinB : 1) Obsession, 2) Hallelujah (no others finished)

SpinA: Too close to guess , all the class did finish.

Non Spin: 1) XTC ( only finisher so far)

R/C: 1) Relativity (only finisher so far)

Mult: no finishers so far

Until any sort of official finish times or results are posted,I hope this is helpful to anyone looking for results.

I am still not convenced Nobility has started motoring yet, they are usually hard core, even if Andy Cheney isn't on the boat this year, Mike is a fighter.
If they can some how sail in they could probably take 1st place in CZ C.

There is a core group in the same area who all appear to be sailing, great job guys, that is what it is all about, it takes guts to hang in there under these conditions.

Another RD / Fox III / Full Monty / HNS DF / Nobility /Splendor

If I didn't list you, doesn't mean I think you are motoring, I wouldn't want to convict someone of quiting if in fact they haven't, keep on keeping on guys.
You have already out performed most of the other guys who luckily made it to the finish early.

What is the source of your information in re: finishers? Ocean Angle's position report has been 21.26 N 86.75 W since 10:00 yesterday AM, or on the island. It certainly would be nice if the race committee could get around to posting some information.

21.26 or 27 N 86.75 W IS APPROXIMATELY where the finish line is, the only hint as to if a boat has finished. Problem is, if the transponder doesn't update at the exact time as they cross the finish line, then you don't have any time data. With 1 hr updates, it could be anywhere from 1m to 60 m in that next update span, just a big guess  I guess

Ocean Angel
04/28 18:16:28 21.26 N 86.75 W 0.0 kts NE 6.6 kts ESE 1013.3 mb 0.6 nm
missing report times :?: 1200 - 1700
04/28 11:13:52 21.26 N 86.75 W 0.9 kts SSW 2.6 ft ESE 0.6 nm
04/28 10:07:20 21.27 N 86.75 W 4.9 kts WSW 2.6 ft ESE 0.8 nm
04/28 09:17:36 21.30 N 86.68 W 4.4 kts WSW 2.6 ft ESE 4.8 nm
04/28 08:17:54 21.34 N 86.62 W 2.6 kts WSW 9.1 nm

The red above is about when they finished, best guess, somewhere between. :?: :?:

Is this MILLER TIME from Bradenton asking the question :?:

If a boat appeared to reach the island under sail via iBoattrack, I figured they probably finished. There may have been a couple I missed. Figuring out WHEN they finished is pretty much a guess. The Cz class finished spread out enough I'm reasonably confident of the order of finish figured by who owes who how much time. The Spin A class was too close to calculate with just guesses for the finish times.

I agree it would be very nice if the RC at least posted finish times, it's been about 2 1/2 days since the first boat finished.

1)Carinthia
2) Tampa Girl
3) Buena Racha
4) Velox
5) Enigma
