I met Robert in Muscatine, Iowa. He asked if I could tell him where he could get some water and groceries. He told me he was canoeing down river to New Orleans. I told him a poem I had written about the Mississippi River. He said, 'Please put it on my blog, so the students can read it." Here is the poem:
I am happy with my maker
The Mississippi is happy with its maker
We have both let go
Freeing ourselves to the endless flow
To our destiny
Some days, smooth sailing
Some days, rough sailing
By River Dave
Robert wanted his sister and students to know that he was doing well and enjoy his adventure.

Dave - Hello from Texas
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your poem. I know Robert enjoys finding others who share his love of "the great outdoors".
