Met Robert North of Vicksburg

While out on my fall camp/kayak trip with two friends doing a week long float from Transylvania,LA to Vidalia,LA (107 miles) we got the pleasure of seeing Robert (about 8 miles north of Vicksburg) and invited him up to camp for some hot cocoa. He stood around the fire and told us about his trip and we had great conversation,I was shocked to find out that he was "THE MAN" when it come to water rockets(haha) so that told me that we have more than just paddling and adventure in common.
The next morning he passed our campsite and was shouting "helloooo" from the river and he was gone again. We never saw Robert again after that (he was just campfire talk) but I know he got in some FOG and bad weather on down the river because we did to. I hope he can make it to New Orleans soon, he said that he was running behind and I'm sure that the fog and weather slowed him down.
I'm gonna keep checking back here at this site for the rest of the story.
Peace and paddles...Jeff T

Jeff,
Thanks for telling us about your visit. You're right about the fog. Between the fog yesterday and the wind today, I know he is frustrated. BUT - he seems to be able to look at all these problems (fog, rain, wind, callouses, aches and pains) as just another inconvience he must get past.
Thanks for you good wishes
