Will the boats have their tranponders for their return trips?

Yes. The system will be active for the return trip.

Trips home will actually be tracked on a separate mapper. I'll post that site here when it's ready, but we'll also post it on iboattrack.com.

I am SO glad that we can watch the trip home as well. I've become quite addicted to the pretty dots and am not quite ready to quit them cold turkey! Plus, knowing where our crew is relieves the worry of having a family member on a little boat in the BIG ocean! Thanks to the IBoat crew for making this such an interactive race. We all REALLY appreciate the work that went into this and thank you for letting us share in this experience. You're the best!

Wonderful news that we will be able to track the boats home. There are many notes on the board from mom's. I'm a daughter and have enjoyed knowing that my mom is OK out there. My children have also enjoyed being able to check in on "Grandma Cheryl." It's like Where's Waldow but more fun. I am now adicted to iBoat and am thankful for your technology. Would be great for mom to have this if she ever left on the cruising retirment trip she talks about. Thanks to everyone associated with iBoat as well as Lakewood RC.

The "race committee" for this regatta is a joint venture of GBCA and LYC. The LYC "race committee" only handled the start. Otherwise, the work was done by the combined regatta race committee headed by Gary Anderson of LYC and Kevin Box of GBCA. Great work you guys. Those of us back home are jealous that we did not get to make it down to the party, but we have enjoyed watching the race on iboattrack. Oh, and thanks to the sponsors Higgins, Smythe and Hood too
