The XL Regata del Sol al Sol kicks off on April 25, 2008 at 1000 EDT. Watch as more than 55 boats make their way from St. Petersburg, FL across the Loop Current to Isla Mujeres, Mexico. The race is approximately 456nm from start to finish and is organized and hosted by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. 2008 marks the 40th running of the race, and iBoattrack is happy to be a part of this fun-filled event!

What site will show the final results? Any idea why it is taking so long? Surely with todays technology this can be done in a much more timely manner. We completed the race days ago and I am now home in the states. How about it "Race Committee"?

Yes I was on Twilight. I used my girl friends log in upon my return to post so I am sorry if it created any confusion. We had many friends and family following the race and they as well as myself would love to see the final results.

No problem, you can even log on as a guest or create your own user name, we aren't picky, except for race results.

Do you are any of your crew mates have any good stories about the race that you could share with the sports fans, we don't want to know about any cross dressers on the crew, but anything funny or serious you guys experienced :?:

Was this your 1st race over or did you do the race with them last year :?:

Did you guys have any trouble with that mainsail on the trip, I saw you guys spending a lot of time trying to hoast it at the docks, had the whole crew out on deck.

From my experience, the OFFICIAL RACE RESULTS won't appear until after the big party:

Friday May 2, 2008
Skippers Meeting for the Amigos Regata - 10:00 at Race Headquarters
Amigos Regata and Children's Party - Lima Docks 14:00 PM (for the kids in school)
Trophy and Award Presentation - Maria Del Mar Banquet Area 19:30

The following day the results will mysteriously appear on the official web site, no explainations or excuses as to why they couldn't do there job in a timely manner.

All we wanted was some preliminary results, which would probably end up being the final results, with minor changes, who cares if they change, they were changing on the LB every update hour. The sports fans wouldn't be reading all kinds of error riden LB listings thinking they were right and spreading rumors and arguing over it.
They could have updated the LB showing all of the boats who dropped out, turned on there motors etc, this would have thinned out the results as well, leaving only a handfull of boats who officially finished. They or someone, finally did withdrew the 2 boats that quit early in the race, Sea Witch dropped out at Egmont Key and was still showing 1st in class and fleet, while flying to Miami, what a sailor.
