they have no sat phone or email other than blackberry which must be out of range. the only way for them to check in is by radio to a boat that is close. looks like they're headed for Brownsville may be under motor not sure. will post when they close enough to call or email me.

not yet, quite nerve racking given all else going on. I expect they may be in range around midnight. are you a family member? I am partner of the captain and know the boat very well.

Yes, Larry's my Significant Other & I've worked with Kevin for many many years. The tragedy for the Cynthia Woods and the hurt crew member on one of the other boats has now made me really anxious about the race. I know these guys & Diablesse heading back in just isn't right.

glad to know you and know someone else is watching out for them. post if you hear from Larry. Steve's got the blackberry and we tested it before they left but they have to have a signal. I expect to hear late this evening.

Greg just checked in. they had engine problems and couldn't charge the battery so put into port at Brownsville/Port Isabel. they will talk with the mechanic in the morning and determine if they will withdraw or not. they are all fine, no injuries or illnesses.
