Hey Ethan - good to see you back. Dolphin is looking good. A few of the SDL_6 boats are staying right on the rhumb line. Bandana was out front and near the RL but seems to be joining the others to the SW now...and a decent clip behind now.

Kala - leaving Friday...I'm guessing you'll miss them finishing then...unless the winds disappear like they've certainly done in the past.

I'm back! 375.7! Finally figured out how to track just the class 6 and it looks like a close race. Dolphin's position next to the line looks good though. Not that I know that much about positioning... Lets just hope that a huge gust of wind will push them straight to the finish!!! This is actually my third time to track this race, and yes, it is addictive! I love it! GO DOLPHIN!

If you look at the leaderboard, Dolphin is in SDL_3. Yes, I see they are showing up on the tracker in both 3 and 6 but I think the leaderboard page was fixed so I would think that was right.

Where do you see them showing up in both classes at the same time? I can't reproduce that to save my life, and if it's a problem, it needs to get fixed!

Thanks.

When I first looked on the "leaderboard" section it had them listed in SDL_6 (saturday i think?) so when I tracked them, I chose that class.
Later, when I tried to look at SDL_6 again i noticed that they werent there, and werent listed on the leaderboard, so I searched around and found them in SDL_3. Now they show up, on the map, in both fleets....but maybe this is because they are checked off in my "tracking" selection dropdown menu?
Either way, I seem to be able to follow them fine using SDL_3. Sorry for the confusion!

cpurvis - I was seeing it in the mapper. I only see them in SDL_3 now though. Thanks for all your hard work!

I just noticed that Dolphin's last position report was at 4:28 while the others were at 6:10. Looking at the mapper, Dolphin's position won't be accurate with respect to the other boats in the SDL_3 class. Maybe the transponder was covered or something. Hopefully, the next update will be accurate...and they'll have much less than 278.8 to go!

254.3 to go... The leader board is showing Dolphin in 7th place... Is this accurate?

If you look at the times, the leaderboard shows Dolphin's last time was 4:10 while the others were taken at 6:12 (ish) so no - it's probably not quite accurate.

Final times will be on some sort of corrected time scale so even the boat that crosses the line first may not be the actual winner...from my limited understanding.

Enjoying this as much as we are? K8, really now...do you really think it's possible for them to be having nearly as much fun as "desk sailors" are having? Not a chance! This is even better than scuba diving in my bathtub!

You are absolutely right. There is no way that the crew of the Dolphin could be having as much fun as we are! Uh oh! I think my desk is getting ready to tack! Coming about! Ah, yes, the wind is much better now...

Do you think all of this tracking is getting to us?
