Heard the race was postponed to 12, maybe nothing is wrong with the boat, just taking his time leaving the dock?

According to the SPYC dockmaster, Mike has been gone from the docks since 9:30 am or so. Must have forgot his transponder or he has a defective unit?

I spoke to Mike this morning and unfortunately it appears that he has a faulty tracker. We apologize for the inconvenience. He started the race on time and is currently underway.

Mi Vida Loca's transponder malfunctioned. His latest position reported at 1900 was 27 degrees 21.48'N, 83 degrees 07.52W. His speed was 6 knots.

We will listen for him on the a.m. schedule both marine and ham. We'll post his coordinates when we hear from him on the radio.

Hello All,

Lots of QRM on the frequencies but we were able to copy Mike on Mi Vita Loca on marine 6224. His position 4/24 Sat @01900 was 25 degrees 26.73'N, 084 degrees 09.59'W.

At 1951 through a relay on 14.300 ham freq, his position was reported through a relay to be 25 degrees 26.30'N, 84 degrees 09.53'W. Heading S/SW @ 6.3 knots.

Just returned from sailing in the Abacos, was checking on Boomer.glad to see he is sailing. Was worried when I looked up the tracker & it looked like they didn't leave the dock. :( I have sailed the past 4 races with Mike to Isla & was sad I could not make it this year. Good luck boys, I am thinking about you. sail fast. Linda

Hopefully, the winds will shift to the NW and build, pushing the fleet home to the finish.
Those big line of lightning storms we had last night and again around 1am are still traveling down the State and are just as bad as they were here. Not sure if the tail of that is what they experienced or not?
